How To Apply
Step 1 – Choose a role from the list that you’d like to apply for.
Step 2 – Download the sample lines for that character and create an audition reel. This can be filmed on your mobile phone.
Step 3 – Please send the audition reel to us by using a free file sharing service. We’d recommend using WeTransfer. Please make sure the file is sent to casting@seriously-funny.com
Step 4 – Shortly after sending your audition reel please use the email above to send us a headshot and any links to acting profiles that you have. Please be sure to include your phone number and location in this email too.
Step 5 – If you’re shortlisted we’ll invite you for an in-person audition in Chatham.

WE ARE PAYING NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE FOR SCHEDULED SHOOTING TIME. CATERING WILL BE PROVIDED IF YOUR SHOOTING TIME OVERLAPS A MORNING AND AFTERNOON SESSION.
ADA – Playing age 30 – 60
Shooting dates: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th October 2023
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Ada is European (open to a range of accents here), a computer programmer by day, she works backstage at the theatre. She’s technically minded, very clever and mainly keeps herself to herself. She loves a challenge and suffers fools gladly.
ANIKA – Playing age 30 – 45
Shooting dates: 17th October 2023
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Anika is the lead character’s partner. On the surface she appears calm, collect and reasonable. However she has a fierce temper and when she sets a goal she’ll do whatever it takes to achieve it.
MARGARET – Playing age 55 – 70
Shooting dates: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 20th October 2023
Location: Rainham, Kent
Margaret is an ex-ballet teacher, keen to ‘keep up appearances’, opinionated, middle-class, friendly but has a way of unintentionally looking down on people. She’s fiercely loyal. Think Helen Mirren in later roles.
DORIS – Playing age 55 – 75
Shooting dates: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th October 2023
Location: Rainham, Kent
Doris is lively, cockney, has no filter, straight talking and cheeky. She’s a big character, who leaves a big impression wherever she goes. Widowed, she misses her husband and maintains a full social life as a distraction. Comedy experience/timing a bonus.
TRACY – Playing age 25 – 40
Shooting dates: 17th October 2023
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Tracy is a dentist who is having an affair with Anika. She’s professionally minded at work and a wild party animal in her personal life.
LUCY – Playing age 30 – 45
Shooting dates: 16th October 2023
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Lucy is mild mannered and a happy go lucky person. She’s an actress in a trailer of a terrible sitcom idea, which is being pitched, where a family enters a house, but only one can leave alive. Physical comedy experience a big bonus with this role.
SCARLET – Playing age 11-15 (chaperone required)
Shooting dates: 16th October 2023
Location: Gillingham, Kent
Scarlet is a happy, bright kid, who has a dark, sinister side. She’s an actress in a trailer of a terrible sitcom idea, which is being pitched, where a family enters a house, but only one can leave alive.
